The Story behind the Shady Lady Quilt
Susie started this project in 2008! Over the past 12 years, the quilt laid resting in its container and every once in awhile Susie would open the
container that it was stored in just to make sure it was ok and that the quilt fairies had not finished it .
Susie bought the fabric in Oregon on the way home from a family reunion. She was worried about her colour choice as
she thought there was not enough contrast between her light and medium fabric.
After all these years, Susie discovered that she was short
of fabric for the backing.....so she used some left over blocks and other
fabrics from her stash!

Susie realized a
couple of months ago that the Quilting Curve Studio was in her neighbourhood. She pay a visit to the shop and spoke with
the owner Sam and they agreed upon a pantograph design.
Susie was happy with the results especially when within a couple of days from
the drop off of the quilt, Sam called her to say it was ready for pick-up.
Susie finally finished the Shady Lady on November 1, 2020! It will be their summer quilt for the 5th
Wheel!
Susie said "SHE PERSEVERED.......AND IT WAS THE COVID THAT GOT HER THROUGH
THIS"!!!

Susie had the Shady Lady nicely arranged in it's photo spot and hubby Bryan picked up the quilt and inadvertently dropped it. Susie was going to pick the quilt up and when looking at it she thought the placement of the fallen quilt deserved another photo....I agree.
